Scarlett Islas is an award-winning director, actor, and multi-disciplinary artist whose journey is shaped by a rich tapestry of experiences and an unwavering commitment to authentic storytelling. As a first-generation Mexican American, Scarlett began her career in the petrochemical and aerospace industries, cultivating a pragmatic approach to life that valued stability and self-reliance. She held her love for art and singing close, choosing a career that provided financial independence and a sense of self-worth.
But a life-altering moment reawakened her creative spirit, and at 30, Scarlett found herself drawn to acting—a medium through which she could reconnect with her truth as an artist. This pivotal experience served as an epiphany, revealing a world her soul had always known was meant for her—a truth she could no longer run from.
As the founder of Rebellatrix Anima Creative Studios, Scarlett champions storytelling that celebrates vulnerability and the beauty of both being behind and in front of the camera. She recognizes the power of our voices and the importance of leading by example, understanding that to tell stories authentically, one must be willing to share their own. Her first passions of singing and drawing remain a vital part of her creative journey, which has evolved into a mission to amplify voices and inspire connection through her art.
Alongside her work in storytelling, Scarlett remains a dedicated student of her passions for singing and acting, continuously studying and growing in how she expresses herself. Her journey extends beyond her personal practice; she is committed to guiding others who aspire to do the same, fostering a space where they, too, can connect with their authentic voices and unique creative expression.

We all have to start somewhere, and I was so blessed to find this monologue when I began my acting journey at the beginning of 2021 in my first-ever acting class at @myactingstudio. This monologue has followed me through different workshops and classes, and each time, I discover something special. This time was no exception of allowing myself to be pushed in a direction I was not expecting for this character. I want to say a special thank you to my first acting coach, Charles Tentindo, for pushing me outside of my comfort zone and encouraging me to express the character Amy from one of my favorite plays in new and different ways. There is no right or wrong in acting; you simply express and allow the magic within you to run wild and free.
